Inspiration
When it comes to finding new healthcare professionals, finding someone you can trust and feel comfortable with is essential for your peace of mind. With reviews from real people like you, it makes the process easier, faster, and more reliable.
What it does
Rate Your Doctor takes a database of doctors across the country and allows you to search for healthcare workers by name or state. When searched, Rate Your Doctors present you with their average rating (on a scale of 1-5 stars) and top reviews to allow you to make an informed decision when choosing your next physician. It also allows you the option to leave your own review to contribute to our ever-growing user database.
How we built it
We created a prototype through Figma and used GitHub, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MongoDB to build the front end and back end.
Challenges we ran into
The main challenge that we ran into was figuring out how to properly code both the front end and back end while integrating the datasets that we gathered, as well as creating a user-friendly UI/UX experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are most proud of being able to configure the website as a whole and integrate the database within the website, as we learned to do this during the timeframe of the hackathon.
What we learned
We learned how to code the front end and back end for our website, as well as work with databases and datasets.
What's next for Rate Your Doctor
We would love to expand our database to include more healthcare workers and add more filters to our search engine, to be able to break it down by providers, such as Kaiser or Anthem Blue Cross.
