Rate UR Date

Inspiration

Trying to date safely and wisely in a huge university campus is extremely hard. As a result, Rate Ur Date was born.

What it does

The aim of the website is to allow for individuals who have dated each other to send and receive anonymous reviews. This allows for users to have constructive criticism on their dating style while allowing others to see whether or not people should go out with them.

How I built it

We used multiple html, css, mamp, gimp, and php. We edited the logo with adobe illustrator. We used a database through sql to store the fields related to the rating fields like dress, mannerism, communication etc.

Challenges I ran into

-How to avoid potential bullying was a major concern as we did want this site to be used to bash people based on a whim. Thus, we used the radio buttons and tried ti make it so that only persons who have dated each other can rate each other.

-Trying to store the information was a major headache. We spent about five hours trying understand firebase and mongodb.
