Inspiration
We were inspired by the idea of getting out of our comfort zones and attempting an ambitious project.
What it does
This game fetches data from Rate My Professor's API. This data includes average rating and first and last names. It allows the user to guess whether a professor's average rating is higher or lower than another's changing the user's score based on the correctness of the user's answer.
How we built it
We built it by separating the project into multiple components: the UI, working with the API to fetch data, and the actual implementation of this data. This was done in React JS and it also included CSS code.
Challenges we ran into
It was difficult to get the correct attributes from the data, especially average rating.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our collaboration skills and our abilities to persevere through challenges.
What we learned
We learned more about fetching data from an API along with using Git, Git Hub and React JS.
What's next for Rate My Professor Higher or Lower Game
We could implement more flashy and interesting graphical features.
