Inspiration
When you use Google map to navigate, the current level of road congestion is displayed on a given route to help people avoid wasting time unnecessarily. Inspired by this, we designed an app to help people know the availability of different parking lots in real time
What it does
It allows users to pick a parking lot at UBC and rate whether it's decently empty or not. Then, the app will gather the user ratings and calculate the level of crowdedness of each parking lot option in the app.
How we built it
We use javascript, html. css, and react.js.
Challenges we ran into
We had issues pushing and pulling git commits. We also had trouble passing values between the react files.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud of sticking it through to the end and creating something that is useful.
What we learned
We learned how to design an app via frontend design. We also learned how to use react.js to build an app.
What's next for Rate My Park
We're going to add more parking lots and allow users to select a parking lot from a map using an api.
