Challenges we ran into

Not enough time to implement some backend features like using the Google Maps API to generate a regional map with pins on local hospitals. We also wanted to include some NLP to automatically generate a rating for the hospital based on sentiment analysis of the review.

Building this website in less than 24 hours!

What we learned

The importance of proper healthcare and holding hospitals accountable for the quality of the services they provide. Being transparent about the experiences you had in a hospital allows others to gage whether a certain hospital would fit their medical needs.

What's next for Rate My Hospital

Geolocation features using Google Maps API, NLP to conduct sentiment analysis on reviews to generate a rating for the hospital, deeper analysis of existing datasets around patient demographics, hospital performance metrics, and details about the typical visit at a certain hospital to better assess the quality of a hospital's care.
