Inspiration
Based on the popular website, Rate my Professor, we combined this with the travel theme and came up with Rate My Airport. We realized that there aren't many public user reviews on airports. This website is to fix that problem as it allows users to rate, comment, and look at other airports.
What it does
Rate My Airport is a website where you can rate airports based on several criteria, and be given the option to view airport ratings that are based on user submissions.
How we built it
We used React for the front-end, spring boot for the back-end, and PostgreSQL for the database.
Challenges we ran into
Some of the challenges that we approached were the learning curve of working with a team, catching members up to date on technology they have not used, planning out a layout, and creating an idea.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We spent a lot of time creating a good looking front-end.
What we learned
We learned how to work with forks and how to fork a repository, working with a team, planning out a website, and learning how to distribute work across team members.
What's next for Rate My Airport
What's next is to finish the back-end, connect the back-end to the front-end, and getting the second page with the ratings completed.
