Ratatouille 2 – Fan-Made

Inspiration

I’ve always loved Ratatouille movie for its message about creativity, passion, and breaking boundaries, and I wanted to explore how AI could bring cinematic imagination to life. This project was born from the idea of blending storytelling and technology to reimagine what an animated sequel might look like if created entirely with AI tools.

What it does

Ratatouille 2 – Fan-Made is an AI-generated concept trailer that visualizes a potential sequel to the beloved Pixar film. It combines AI-generated visuals, voiceovers, and music into a cohesive cinematic teaser, created entirely with generative tools and creative direction.

How we built it

I used a combination of seven AI and creative tools to build the teaser: 1) ChatGPT – for scriptwriting and scene prompt generation 2) DALL·E – for creating character and environment images 3) Runway & Pika Labs – to animate still images into moving scenes 4) ElevenLabs – to generate the voiceover narration 5) Pixabay – for background music 6) CapCut Pro – for final video editing and composition

Challenges we ran into

1) Character consistency was the toughest challenge, keeping the same character’s appearance across multiple AI-generated shots was difficult. 2) Timing and transitions between scenes needed manual fine-tuning.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

1) Successfully created a visually compelling AI-generated film trailer with no human-drawn or filmed footage. 2) Overcame the challenge of combining multiple AI tools into a single coherent narrative.

What we learned

1) AI is a powerful creative partner, but it still requires strong direction, patience, and storytelling skill. 2) Seamless integration between multiple AI tools is key to achieving professional-quality results. 3)Creativity and narrative vision matter just as much as the technology itself.

Next, I plan to: 1)Explore fully original characters and stories to push the concept beyond fan art. 2)Experiment with AI character consistency tools and advanced animation frameworks. 3)Expand this teaser into a short AI-animated film, blending humor, heart, and innovation.
