Adapted spoon based off of a sea anemone to aid people with motor skill issues with autonomous eating.
Our design is almost entirely 3D printed, with the use of one screw. Our team went through several iterations before settling on the final anemone design.
We ran into multiple assembly issues, with fits and clearances not as we expected.
We're proud to say that our design works, and does indeed hold food easier under tremoring than a regular spoon utensil.
We learned the importance of iteration and not to become too tunnel visioned on a certain design. It is okay to look back and change your mind.
In the future we hope to alter the manufacturing process to include silicone bristles and a more sturdy frame. The comfort of our user is extremely important to this team, and our design has a long way to go to ensure maximum ease of use.
