Inspiration
Reading about Rapyd Virtual Accounts gave me the idea to build a service that allowed any kind of website to easily and securely integrate this method of payment, while also making the process as smooth as possible for the end customer
What it does
The idea behind Rapyd pay is to bring the power of Rapyd virtual accounts and Rapyd wallets to as many people as possible. To make this happen required two solutions. A smooth experience for the end customer, as well as seamless integration for any websites wanting to serve those customers. The service can be embedded into any website with minimal code. It allows that website to create and track Rapyd Virtual Accounts. It also provides the end user with a clean, easy to use interface to manage their Rapyd Wallet and Rapyd Virtual Accounts. All sensitive data including login information never has to be entered into the end website, so users can trust that they are safe and secure.
How I built it
The service is built using React.js for the front end, Node.js for the backend and Firebase for authentication and database
Challenges we ran into
Making the service simple to use, while maintaining functionality to prevent the end result being complicated or confusing. Also working on this project as a one person team meant handling frontend, backend and database myself, while also keeping the scope of the project under control
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
The user flow that allows login to be handled on RapydPay rather than having to input sensitive information into a third party website
What I learned
The Rapyd API's were new to me and were great to learn. Also learning project management skills needed to keep the project from expanding too much so that it would be ready by the hackathon deadline
What's next for RapydPay
Things I would like to integrate into RapydPay in the future would be integration with the other financial services Rapyd offers to make it a complete, all in one payment solution
