Inspiration

E-commerce is growing exponentially, and customer expectations have shifted to same-day delivery. At the same time, most drivers on the road are heavily underutilized. We saw an opportunity to fix both problems by merging fragmented delivery and laundry logistics into one streamlined, high-efficiency network.

What it does

Rapidual is a dual-purpose logistics platform that enables drivers to deliver big-box retail subscriptions and pick up laundry on the same route. We then reverse the loop by redelivering clean laundry alongside recurring retail orders. This optimizes underused driver capacity and delivers private-fleet-level service without the cost or liability of owning one.

How I built it

We started by mapping delivery density and laundry demand in urban areas, then designed routing logic to pair them efficiently. The platform uses scheduling, location intelligence, and route optimization to ensure drivers can complete both services without adding time or overhead. Our MVP integrates mobile driver tools, customer scheduling, and backend logistics coordination.

Challenges I ran into

One of the biggest challenges was building a system that could maintain operational efficiency across two very different service types—laundry and retail. Coordinating timing, managing pickups with unpredictable availability, and integrating existing delivery patterns required deep logistical planning and rapid iteration.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We proved that dual-purpose routing can work without increasing cost, and that customers are willing to adopt a bundled delivery model for recurring needs. Building a system that feels like a premium private fleet—but runs leaner than traditional single-purpose logistics—was a huge win.

What I learned

Last-mile logistics is broken not because of lack of demand, but because of lack of imagination. There’s enormous potential in pairing underused capacity with recurring consumer needs. I also learned the value of simplifying user expectations—if it works seamlessly, they don’t care what’s behind the curtain.

What's next for Rapidual

We’re scaling our pilot markets, refining our driver ops tech, and integrating directly with big-box retail APIs. The next step is securing strategic partners, raising to grow our engineering and ops teams, and expanding into multi-city deployment. We’re building the infrastructure for a same-day, multi-service logistics future.
