Inspiration
Blender add-on for rapid game world building with modular assets. a 2D map editor for 3D. I like the modular toolkits for prototyping games but it is awkward having to import and use each asset. So I wanted to make a tool that would help build a scene rapidly.
What it does
It helps you use large fbx modular folders/toolkits that you can build or get from Kenney or itch. It organises the fbx models allowing you to place them rapidly in the scene.
How we built it
It’s a python script that can be added to blender to work with fbx folders to build your models.
Challenges we ran into
I had a lot of features I wanted to build but the Ai said the scope was large. So we built a smaller tool that can do just about all I wanted.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I have a working tool. I actually finished a hackathon more than a few hours before the deadline. :-)
What we learned
Improved how I dialog with AI.
What's next for
I will try to add the missing features.
