Inspiration

Hiring is broken manual screenings are time-consuming, biased, and unable to keep up with volume. On top of that, interview cheating is rising. We wanted to create an AI agent that automates the interview process, detects fraud, and gives hiring agencies the power to screen faster and smarter.

What it does

RapidHire AI is an AI-powered interview agent that automates candidate screening.

  1. Analyzes resumes to generate smart, personalized questions
  2. Conducts 15-minute AI interviews via sharable links
  3. Records audio/video and monitors screen activity
  4. Uses AI to score candidates on grammar, fluency, and relevance
  5. Detects cheating using screen activity and behavior tracking
  6. Generates structured reports and lets recruiters review recordings
  7. Shortlists top candidates based on objective scoring

How we built it

Frontend: React.js
Backend: Node.js + Express + MongoDB
AI/NLP: Open-source LLMs for Q&A + scoring
Speech-to-text: Whisper (OpenAI)
Hosting: Vercel Cheating Detection: OpenCV + screen/audio monitoring ( Under Development )

Challenges we ran into

Storing large audio/video securely without lag Running NLP + AI scoring under resource constraints Building a basic but effective cheating detection system
