Inspiration
The inspiration for RapidCare struck during a healthcare crisis that emphasized the need for a solution to address the lack of real-time information on bed availability. Witnessing the struggles of patients and healthcare providers during emergencies motivated us to create a life-saving tool that could bridge the gap and save lives.
What it does
RapidCare is a Real-Time Bed Availability Tracking System designed to provide transparent and up-to-date information on emergency bed availability in healthcare facilities. The most important functionality is the location-based hospital search functionality that empowers users to swiftly locate nearby hospitals with our intuitive location-based search feature. Once the user finalizes the hospital, they can go ahead and book a bed through our bed booking functionality. Our streamlined bed booking system ensures swift access to available hospital beds, expediting vital care for patients in need. Also, to know more about us users can visit the about us tab.
How we built it
RapidCare is a real-time bed availability web app developed with React. The platform offers a comprehensive list of hospitals. The user interface is meticulously designed for easy access. RapidCare empowers healthcare providers and individuals seeking emergency care, revolutionizing healthcare access and making a life-saving impact.
What we learned
. Through this hackathon, we have learned a number of technical and non-technical skills that have fostered the professional growth of ourselves. We were able to identify pressing issues, and develop innovative solutions that can make a tangible difference in the healthcare domain, thereby relying on the theme ’Tech for Good’. The hackathon highlighted the significance of collaboration, resilience our ability to thrive under pressure, and a lot more learnings that will definitely help us to be industry leaders in the future. Overall this hackathon has been an enriching experience for each one of us and we look forward to taking part in more such hackathons in the future.
What's next for RapidCare
We have currently presented a prototype that will address the prevalent problem of the emergency bed booking system for the ease of the patients. In the future, we wish to implement this project with a multilingual feature that will target our main stakeholders i.e. villagers to access this project in their vernacular language. Also, we would work on implementing google maps for the precise location of hospitals through the use of paid APIs.
