Inspiration - The inspiration came from wanting to create something that people could benefit from, and after researching we found that a lot of people don't enjoy the process of making a meal from scratch due to not wanting to find recipes.

What it does - It takes in your ingredients by text or an image of your fridge and returns a bunch of recipes, based on what ingredients you have.

How we built it - We built it with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and use several API's to make it functional. We used a free API called Edamam Nutrition to create a user friendly website interface that allows a user to enter all the ingredients that they have at their disposal to generate and recommend high quality recipes using the ingredients the user has

Challenges we ran into - Getting the API's to work as our team wasn't familiar with API use before this hackathon

Accomplishments that we're proud of - We got all the frontend and API's to work, and the website worked as we planned.

What we learned - We learned a lot of Javascript and how to use API's with Javascript. We also learned how to use AI in our project, as well as image recognition.

What's next for Rapid Recipes - What's next for Rapid Recipes is to improve the image recognition feature as it is not 100% accurate. We also want to incorporate a database of recipes in the future to improve the accessing, managing, modifying, updating, and retrieving our data.
