Inspiration

Little movements add up. 2020 brought many of us into a home office setting. With gyms closed, in-person classes canceled we find ourselves spending more time behind the screens. Reduced physical activity is linked to depression.

What it does

Random Yoga Video, a website, created to encourage short bursts of exercise. With a single click you get a short, relevant yoga (or exercise) video from YouTube. All you need to do is pause, unroll a yoga mat and follow along.

How I built it

It was built over a weekend with awesome tools like Heroku and lots of enthusiasm.

Challenges I ran into

Working to speed up API response times.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I'm proud that just by participating, I'm helping people in need. Terminal will donate $25 for each project submitted.

What I learned

While brainstorming Random Yoga Video, I've skimmed over a few scientific papers proving benefits of taking short breaks to exercise. I'll try to include a few minutes of yoga while working from home, and encourage more people to do so.

What's next for Random Yoga Video

Hopefully to keep it running forever and occasionally use it myself!
