Random Inmate lets you talk to and discover the world of a random inmate.

Inmates post photos of their days in prison, to communicate and document their life in a language-independent way.

This app can also help prison administrators maintain and keep their facilities healthy.

"The other day, my friend Ana told me about her uncle, who was put in prison, and eventually contracted a breathing disorder due to the conditions in his cell. He didn't speak much English, and couldn't communicate that there was mold growing in his cell."

This app is currently a prototype using sample data from the SD Sheriffs dept.

This Android and iOS app will eventually be available on feature phones, so that each inmate can have a phone to document their experience.

"There are a lot of inmates in San Diego. I want to try helping those whom most would not consider helping."
