Inspiration
We were inspired to create this product after noticing how inaccessible a lot of resources and paths around the UW campus were.
What it does
We took the first step to tackle this challenge by creating app with several features such as a map that allows individuals to navigate through campus, but with information about accessible paths, a resources page, and a form that users to fill to alert the DRS, UW’s Disability and Resource for Students center, about any problems that arise, whether that be obstacles on paths, ongoing construction, or the weather.
How we built it
We developed a prototype on Figma.
Challenges we ran into
- Finding ways of making the app as inclusive as possible.
- Figuring out which prototype platform to use and navigating Figma.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Creating a full prototype and having a flushed out idea of how we could build upon this in the future.
What we learned
- That our campus has a long way to go in terms of becoming more accessible and we want to play a part in making sure that this happens.
What's next for RampUp
- Contacting UW's Disability Resources for Students Center and pitching this idea to them to possibly collaborate with them and incorporate their resources.
