Inspiration

Modern PCs often feel slow or unresponsive without any clear reason. RAM SAVER was inspired by the need for a simple, always-visible tool that can instantly reveal which processes are consuming memory or writing excessively to disk—without heavy system overhead or complex setup.

What it does

RAM SAVER provides real-time monitoring of RAM usage and disk write activity through a minimalist overlay. It highlights the top memory-consuming processes and detects disk write surges, with one-click access to each process’s location for quick investigation.

How we built it

We built RAM SAVER as a lightweight, portable Windows utility, focusing on efficiency, clarity, and responsiveness. The design prioritizes real-time updates, low resource usage, and a clean always-on-top interface.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing accurate real-time monitoring with minimal performance impact was the main challenge, especially when tracking disk write behavior without generating noise or false positives.
