Inspiration

Rally was originally going to be a feature within a project management platform. We made the decision to have it be its own standalone product. It didn't just feel right, it went inline with our core philosophy with what rally is. Rally started from a problem we saw in agile teams: valuable time lost to meeting admin. Engineering teams spent hours on Jira updates instead of technical work, while remote teams struggled to stay aligned. We built Rally to solve these challenges.

What it does

Rally transforms agile meetings in Jira by providing focused spaces for team collaboration. With AI-assisted discussions, automatic Jira updates, and smart estimations, teams can focus on meaningful work instead of admin tasks. Everything stays organized and accessible, whether working in real-time or async.

How we built it

We focused on creating a seamless experience within Jira, where teams already spend their time. By combining AI assistance with an intuitive chat interface, we've made collaboration feel natural while keeping everything synchronized with Jira—all with Forge and API

Challenges we ran into

One challenge we faced was making sure that Rally sessions were secured.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our Align template has transformed how teams run meetings, while our new Assign template helps manage team capacity effectively. The automatic Jira synchronization eliminates post-meeting admin, and our AI assistance makes meetings more productive without being intrusive.

What we learned

Understanding diverse, agile workflows taught us that flexibility is crucial. Effective solutions enhance existing processes rather than forcing new ones. This insight has guided our development approach.

What's next for Rally for Jira

We're expanding our template library to support more specialized agile ceremonies while maintaining our commitment to simplicity. As we grow to serve more enterprise teams, we're focused on scaling Rally's capabilities while preserving what makes it effective - making agile meetings work better in Jira.
