Inspiration We were inspired by the real-life struggles of Thalassemia patients and their families in India. Many have trouble finding regular blood donors, managing the disease, and accessing proper care. The remarkable work done by Blood Warriors motivated us to use technology to help and create something meaningful.
What it does RaktSaathi is a web and mobile app that connects Thalassemia patients with nearby and compatible blood donors. It helps patients track transfusion needs, chat with donors, and access educational resources. Donors get reminders and can see their donation history. Doctors can manage their patients and provide support through a dedicated dashboard.
How we built it We built RaktSaathi using the following tools: Frontend: React (Web) and React Native (Mobile) Backend:Node.js with Express Database: MongoDB AI/ML: Python (to predict donor availability) APIs: Integrated dummy data from e-RaktKosh and Google Maps for geolocation We designed user-friendly dashboards for patients, donors, and doctors to ensure simple and smooth interaction.
