Inspiration
Recently, it has become a trend for people to build websites for businesses and sell them. However, it can be very difficult to do that, as your are navigating between 100 different tabs and it is very hard to find businesses without websites in the age of agentic AI. We ran into this issue, so we decided to solve it in this hackathon.
What it does
Rake scours the internet for businesses without websites, using google maps, yelp, and more. It then compiles a list of them and builds a clean, flashy website for each of them. After, it creates a pitch for the hustler to sell the website. It basically combines all of the tasks required for the side hustle into one app.
How we built it
We put blood, sweat, and tears into this project. We built is as a node.js app, and we used Freebuff powered by deepseek v4.
Challenges we ran into
It was very difficult to get the google maps api to work correctly, as it was very complicated to grab it with my google account being blocked from google cloud (we're under 18, and for some reason my computer wouldn't let me switch accounts).
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built a fully functional app that does something fully original, as we weren't able to find competitors for this type of app.
What we learned
We learned how to harness the powers of GenAI and Google Gemini and how far AI has come. We learned how to use node.js in projects, and how to use an API.
What's next for Rake
It will be able to contact the businesses and use tts to sell the business, no humans involved even in selling the websites.
