Inspiration
This project is a small initiative to teach and educate kids and young adults about the different genders and sexualities in a fun and interactive manner. We observed that we were aware of only 4 generic pronouns: he, she, it, they. While, in reality, there are over 50 pronouns that can be used across across the gender spectrum. Same goes with sexualities. There are over 10 different sexualities. We thought this would be a cute and innovative way to teach kids the same.
What it does
This is a quiz app that checks your knowledge on the LGBTQ+ community. It also has a section that helps you with the definitions of the different pronouns.
How we built it
We built it with React.js, CSS, JavaScript and HTML, and Python.
Challenges we ran into
It was difficult to collaborate when we had exams.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made the website work.
What we learned
We learned how to collaborate as a team and learned some new tricks in React.js
What's next for Rainbows and Unicorns
Incorporating more levels and help features. Also having some social features to share highscores.
