Inspiration
A raid brings new viewers into a stream; the host still has to turn that arrival into a welcome. RaidRumble gives newcomers an easy way into the conversation: a shared game, played in the chat they already use.
What it does
One raid. Three rounds. A reason to stay. RaidRumble turns a welcomed raid into three minutes of play between Raiders ▲ and Home Guard ●, ending with both communities fighting on the same side.
Siege: type the rotating keyword to push or defend a gate. Participation rate determines team force, and each person counts once per two-second window. A small, engaged Home Guard can resist a much larger, mostly lurking raid. Each streamer also gets one special to time for a comeback.
Know Your Host: answer four quick A/B/C questions about the two streams. Raiders learn about their new host; Home Guard discovers the visitors. Questions use supplied channel information and streamer-entered facts, with factual templates ready when optional generation fails.
Fusion Boss: put the rivalry aside and attack one shared boss. Type !hit, watch for its weak-point keyword, and bring it down together. Boss health scales with active participants. Both teams win or lose together, and the end card celebrates their MVPs.
The rivalry ledger gives the next meeting a rematch story. Afterglow shows recent raider chat participation, helping the host acknowledge people who joined in.
Made for the stream
The default Lower Third OBS overlay keeps the streamer and their content the main event. Big keywords show what to type; colors paired with shapes identify teams. Hosts can also choose Side Rail or Full Arena, reduced motion and opt-in sound.
Hosts connect Twitch, copy their overlay URL into OBS, and try a test raid. They choose whom to trust and which actions to enforce. In enforce mode, unfamiliar raids ask for approval for up to ten seconds; blocked raids stay out. The optional Trust next time choice saves only after a successful start. New installs start in Shadow Mode to preview decisions before enforcement.
Policy checks cover match starts, displayed content and channel actions. The local gate works without a Decionis account; the Azure deployment also uses a published, explicitly selected Decionis policy.
How we built it with Codex
We built in one Codex chat, using AGENTS.md as the shared contract. Three agents built Siege, Know Your Host and Fusion Boss in parallel against the same start / onInput / tick / result interface, plus a serializable view. Each round is a deterministic plug-in class with its own tests. The parallel build record preserves the overlapping work.
Codex helped test fairness, spam limits and approval replay. Team attribution combines available Shared Chat or roster evidence with self-selection and fallback signals; viewers can correct a fallback assignment before their first counted move.
Disclosure: Decionis predates RaidRumble and is a service built by the author.
What is next
Run sessions with two streamers, measure participation and retention, and use what we learn to improve the rounds. The first goal is a welcome people want to join.
Verified vs. not yet verified
Verified: the live Azure app, incoming Twitch chat, and a one-account babafesti test with a co-op boss victory. The release passes 728 tests. Its published Decionis policy has signed, committed Twitch setup receipts. The current video uses the local gate.
Not yet verified: a real second-streamer raid, cross-channel Shared Chat, live Channel Points or shoutouts, or measured retention lift. Verification details · Live policy evidence.
