Problem

One of the pressing issues in the bloody crypto world right now is a decline of interest in NFTs, partially due to a very limited set of organic web3 tools for their promotion. We propose to gamify the process of NFT distribution with ruffles. On the other side, this contest industry itself has a multi-billion annual turnover (in USD). With great growth potential if one would conduct transparent ruffles on the blockchain because according to a 2017 study released by researchers from Middlebury College, the USA making raffles more "fair" tremendously increases participation.

Solution

Project Raffland offers a solution on both sides by designing a dApp, where everyone can create a custom NFT raffle. Such service guarantees transparency of draws based on the NEAR family of blockchain technologies and has the flexible architecture to meet various business and NGO needs.

Our team has set a goal to work on marketing and legal aspects with interested authorities, and even incorporate recent scientific research in economic psychology while developing demo PoC, which will be further expanded into a production-ready MVP according to the project roadmap:

  1. Finalize PoC, which is being developed during Metabuild.
  2. Complete MVP dApp, with the functionality of creating custom raffles as well as opportunities to participate in them.
  3. DAO around the project to facilitate its growth and decentralization.
  4. Rich analytics for raffles.
  5. Expand the variety of supported NFT marketplaces on Near and beyond.

Originality

To the best of our knowledge, there are no projects with described above functionality on NEAR protocol as well as on other top protocols: Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Polygon.

Team

Our team consists of two young and dynamic enthusiasts who met in Vienna at the Sustainable Blockchain Hackathon '22 powered by NEAR in May, found common values and decided to implement them in web3. During the day, we are a physicist (Ivan) and a software engineer (Mykyta), and at night we write code for smart contracts.

Current progress

A smart contract has been written that allows drawing NFT, as well as integration tests for it (in workspace-rs; they are located in backend-app/workspace-test/examples/src/). A minimal front-end has also been developed. We continue to actively work on the project and in the coming days, the contract will be deployed on the testnet, where the first draw will be held.
