Inspiration

One of the greatest challenges with COVID19 CRISIS IN Nigeria has been related to Fake News and Misinformation. It is the hope that this Radio COVID19 in Wazobia will improve how to communicate effectively about all things related to COVID19 prevention and transmission within Rural Communities in Nigeria without access to internet connectivity and newsfeed Update from reliable sources such as the World Health Organization and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) [ https://www.ncdc.gov.ng/]. It is also the hope that it will provide a Stop Gap measure towards the Management of Post COVID19 CRISIS in Nigeria.

What it does:

Radio COVID19 in "Wazobia" would solve the problems of how to communicate effectively about COVID19 prevention, control and transmission in the three most widely spoken languages in Nigeria to areas with extremely low literacy, low smartphone penetrations and no power. Wazobia is a forced together term of togetherness; a cliché unification of Yoruba (Wa) Hausa (Zo) and Igbo (Bia) which means "come" in the three most widely spoken languages in Nigeria

Radio COVID19 in Wazobia will connect to authentic sources of information about COVID19 via an internet Radio model however broadcasting upon translations into the 3 Wazobia languages like traditional radio broadcasting which deploys on shortwave & medium waves available on multiple platforms especially targeting vulnerable and hard to reach populations.
