No business can survive and thrive by ignoring what is happening around them. Businesses need processes in place that help you look at what their competitors are doing, how they are performing, and how the market is reacting. what they are doing.

It is key for a business to have a competitive analysis strategies. You cannot do it once and forget about it, but it must have a constant process of checking the competition so that you can see their successes and mistakes. Allowing a business to anticipate what may come up.

Competitive analysis can be done on the following areas:

  • sales and marketing strategies
  • products and services
  • objectives and KPIs
  • target audiences
  • strengths and weaknesses

What it does

This component provides widgets for your monday boards that allow you to compare data in Radar charts. You can:

  • select what columns you would like to use
  • set if you want item or column to be the x axis
  • set if you would like the widget to renormalise the data for you These widgets can be added to boards to make provide easy visualisation.

Benefits of Radar Chart

  • You can compare a large number of variables: The greatest advantage radar charts provide is their ability to plot a lot of variables on one graph and then connect each one to create a polygonal shape that represents the group. This allows you to compare several variables in a way that appears less cluttered and is easier to read than other types of graphs and charts.
  • You can make comparisons quickly: Radar charts represent data in shapes that you can lay over one another and quickly compare how the groups compare. Simple visual comparisons of the size and shape of each polygon allow you to save time.
  • Outliers are noticeable: Outliers become obvious on radar charts because the point of the outlier will not align with other variables on the chart. For example, if you want to compare competitors metrics to your metrics, you will be able to quickly identify whether the competitor has metrics far outlying the rest of the team by looking at where each point is in relation to the others.
  • You can use different scales of measurement: Another major advantage radar charts provide is the ability to graph variables that use different methods of appraisal. For example, if you want to compare metrics of your sales team, you could use one variable in a measurement of sales per hour while using another variable of customer conversion rate.

How I built it

I built it using the Monday OS framework using reactjs to visualise data from the monday apis. This required me to post process the data into the correct format and then create a visualisation layout for the radar charts.

Challenges I ran into

I found it challenging to deliver a layout of the components based on. the widgets being any size on the end user's device.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am particularly proud of being able to create a layout and radar chart visualisation that is both fast and easy to use.

What I learned

I have learnt how to use the Monday OS and have numerous other ideas of widgets and components

What's next for Radar Charts

Provide some out of the box monday boards and radar examples along with supporting dark mode.
