Inspiration

The theme of the project was "you've already won". We wanted to take a dark twist to this project, having the concept of "winning" portrayed through gruesome flashbacks of the main character, Bob, getting his murderous revenge on people who had wronged him in his life. The flashbacks correlate with specific objects in the the environment that the player can explore and interact with.

What it does

The game allows the player to explore a series of flashbacks in a dreamlike state while trying to understand who the main character is and what he has done.

How we built it

We had two coders working with C# thru Unity, one artist working with Maya, Photoshop, and Substance painter, and one composer working through Logic with EWQL, VSL, and Alchemy.

Challenges we ran into

Coming up with an Idea. Sleep deprivation. Clear narrative through music. Player control. Composition/Anatomy. Scaling.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Making a first person exploration based game with 30 sfx, 8 music tracks, a combination of interactive 3D assets and narrative 2D portraits. This was made with a team that had never worked together, and there was no preparation involved - we all feel like we've made the most of our time working together.

What we learned

Sleep is good for artists. Preparation is key for coders. Andy likes Source Control.

What's next for Rad C

Sleep. Polishing "Happy...?". Long walks on the beach. Wine tastings. Eternal friendship. Making more games.
