Inspiration: to make savings fun and encourage your friends to meet their savings goals too

What it does: You can join, link your bank account, and enter a savings bracket to race against your friends to encourage each other to meet the savings goals you each set. The idea is that there is a race against all people in the group to see who can meet the finish line first/meet their savings goal the fastest.

How we built it: We used shadcn/ui, react with Node.js, and attempting to implement Nessie API.

Challenges we ran into: Everything front end, connecting to and using ports on Wi-Fi, using GitHub, connecting a database to work with our website.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: We made a website as a full team of first time Hackathon participants/strictly back-end devs.

What we learned: How to make a website, how to work with Shadcn components, Node.js, react, javascript, HTML, the importance of version control, working with others simultaneously on a project, communicating and creating a blueprint, how to code with Nessie API

What's next for racingtosave: After a break, we plan to fully integrate the API with Nessie, get the database connected to the website, add the race track to track savings progress of group mates, add client post login UI, get link working to create group page on website
