RaceBrain: Your Competitive Mobility Simulator

What Inspired Us

Before a Formula E car takes a corner or a delivery drone plots its route, there’s a hidden arena deciding who wins: the simulator. Yet access to this digital racetrack is unequal—traditional systems cost over $500K, rely on proprietary rigs and months of tuning, and must be rebuilt from scratch for every new domain, from racing to drones to logistics.

As a result, only elite teams can afford to test, fail, and optimize virtually, while everyone else gambles in the real world—wasting time, fuel, and innovation potential. This “simulation inequality” locks out startups, researchers, and students—not for lack of talent, but because accessible, scalable, intelligent simulators simply don’t exist.

RaceBrain breaks this cycle by reimagining how simulation is built and delivered. It fuses lightweight physics engines with machine learning to deliver near real-world fidelity on consumer hardware. A GenAI-driven configuration layer automates setup, while pre-trained hybrid models enable instant, data-free experimentation across domains. In doing so, RaceBrain transforms simulation from an exclusive privilege into an open, intelligent platform powering the next generation of mobility innovation.

What It Does

RaceBrain is your AI-powered mobility competition simulator, designed for any user from hobbyist to professional. It combines pre-trained models, hybrid physics, and real-time telemetry to simulate multi-agent scenarios across racing, drones, logistics, and traffic systems.

Key Features

  1. Zero-Data Quick Start
Instantly simulate multi-agent scenarios across racing, drones, logistics, or traffic without any prior data. Pre-trained models and ready-to-run templates allow users to go from setup to live simulation in minutes, making high-fidelity mobility accessible to beginners and hobbyists.

  2. GenAI Configuration Wizard
Natural language setup transforms complex scenario creation into a conversation. Ask questions like “Compare 1-stop vs. 2-stop strategies” and get fully generated simulations, dashboards, and reports—iteratively adjustable with zero coding.

  3. Live Leaderboard & Event Stream
Track all agents in real time with ultra-low latency. See overtakes, pit stops, energy levels, and live predicted finishes, with interactive 2D/3D visualizations and mobile-ready dashboards—experience simulation like a live broadcast.

  4. Custom Agent Behavior Creator
Generate unique AI drivers through plain English. Define strategies (defensive, aggressive, endurance) and test them instantly in sandbox simulations. GenAI generates behavior logic in seconds, empowering users to innovate without coding expertise.

  5. Data Upload & Auto-Calibration
Enhance realism by feeding your own telemetry. Bayesian auto-calibration blends physics and ML, boosting accuracy by 10–20% while maintaining full data privacy. Hybrid models fill gaps pre-trained models can’t handle, giving near real-world performance with minimal data.

  6. Interactive Parameter Tuning
Experiment with vehicles, strategy, and environment via intuitive sliders. Receive real-time ML-powered predictions for lap times, energy usage, and overtakes, with side-by-side comparison of multiple “what-if” scenarios.

How We Will Build It

  • Simulation Core: Python (prototype) /Rust engine handles multi-agent physics with deterministic tick loops.
  • AI & Analytics: Hybrid physics-ML models (PyTorch + Scikit-learn) generate residual corrections and predictive insights.
  • Frontend & Real-Time Interaction: Next.js + React powers dashboards and 3D/2D visualizations, with APIs pushing live updates.
  • Progressive Complexity: Tiered system scales from zero-data learners to data-rich pro teams, allowing incremental sophistication.

This stack ensures simulations run on consumer hardware, multi-agent interactions are realistic, and non-experts can engage via GenAI conversational tools.

Challenges We Face

  • Complex Physics & ML Integration: Modeling tire wear, crash probability, and strategy required blending domain knowledge with fast, accurate computation.
  • Multi-Domain Support: Ensuring the same simulator could handle cars, drones, trucks, and traffic demanded modularity.
  • Real-Time Performance: Running 100+ agents with high fidelity pushed the limits of single-machine performance.

What We Learned

  • Tell the Story with Data: Highlighting strategy and risk made the platform intuitive and engaging.
  • Accessibility Matters: GenAI and templates democratize simulation, letting students, researchers, and startups participate without expensive hardware.

Impact & Vision

RaceBrain democratizes competitive mobility simulation.

  • Cost Reduction: $500K+ simulators → subscription pricing accessible to any user.
  • Accelerated Insight: Simulate complex multi-agent scenarios in minutes, not months.
  • Multi-Domain Access: One platform supports racing, drones, logistics, and traffic.
  • Education & Research: Students and researchers gain hands-on experience with professional-grade tools.
  • Innovation Unleashed: Small teams and startups can experiment, optimize, and iterate strategies previously only accessible to elite organizations.

We’re building more than a simulator—we’re creating a global ecosystem for mobility R&D, combining AI, physics, and real-time interaction into a platform anyone can use to learn, compete, and innovate.
