Inspiration
We initially wanted to get some experience and meet fellow coders. After hearing about the many projects and learning new ways to interpret data and how we can use data in our everyday life, we wanted to work hard to compete with the others around us.
What it does
Maneuvers along a given path by using sensors to detect how far along and away it is from a line. The angular acceleration and linear acceleration are outputs that we control based on the detected points from the sensors.
How we built it
We used VS Code and its extensions as our compiler and python as our coding language. Additionally, we mathematically calculated the angular acceleration and linear acceleration of the robot based on its current orientation and acceleration in order to most efficiently maneuver its way through the track.
Challenges we ran into
At first our understanding of the input, location of the sensors, along with compiling issues led us to many frustrations because we had a good pseudo code planned out. After we had clarified our confusions on the logic of what we were given, the calculations itself were the toughest part.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Ultimately, this project was not something that was easy, and we’re proud of the effort and time that we put into this.
What we learned
We learned we need a better understanding of different topics on Python in particular along with a greater drive to succeed.
What's next for RaceBots
After the deadline for submission, we plan to better our code to gain mastery over this topic.
