R'Wallet (OPTIMIZATION TRACK)

Inspiration

We were inspired to make this app because of how inconvenient it can be having to use several different platforms that were associated with the R'card. For instance, we have to login into our R'card account to check our balance for food, we have to login into a whole different app for the SRC, we have to use a separate website for printing, etc. It felt natural to make an app that would piece all these platforms together so that they can be easier to access.

What it does

R'Wallet lets puts together different platforms associated with the R'card into one place. You can view your meal plan, dining dollars, bear bucks, Wepa account, and all past transactions on one page. You can also scan your R'QR code to check into special UCR hosted events, make purchases with your dining dollars, check into the SRC, and more. We also have a page that allows mobile ordering for food with their mobile R'card in case students are in a hurry.

How we built it

We built this app using Figma.

Challenges we ran into

One of the biggest challenges of our project was the animation portion. When we were animating the application, there were lots of glitches and malfunctions with the preview of the prototype. We had to go back in and constantly rework the interactions within our flow. Another challenge that we had was with time. There were many more pages that we wanted to add but ran out of time for.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of being able to put this whole project together. More specifically, our teamwork allowed us to complete this app, and we worked efficiently to solve any problems we came across. We are also proud of the design, the animation, and the details we were able to integrate into the application.

What we learned

We learned that we should be better prepared to come across complications when any type of animation is involved. When there are lots of interactions, it can become easily mixed up and difficult to manage. Next time, we should also be better prepared with a work plan so we do not jump and skip around with designing and animating out of order.

What's next for R'Wallet

For R'Wallet, we want to continue creating more pages and functions that can make UCR student lives easier and more convenient. We would also like to implement a Face ID recognition feature, so students no longer have to spend time logging in with their Net ID each time.
