Our inspiration came from the need to create tools that support neurodivergent individuals, particularly those with autism, who often face challenges in understanding social cues like sarcasm. Sarcasm can be subtle and nuanced, making it difficult to detect without context. By leveraging technology, we wanted to bridge this gap and foster better communication in social interactions.
R-U-SERIO.US is an app designed to detect sarcasm in real-time. Users can input text, or use speech-to-text functionality, and the app analyzes the language for tonal, contextual, and linguistic markers of sarcasm. It provides a clear, accessible output indicating whether the statement is sarcastic or sincere, helping users interpret the meaning more confidently.
We struggled with integrating all of our work together.
