Our project is aimed towards modeling a smart home automation system which makes use of an
amalgamation of various sensors, actuators and processors. It allows homeowners and their families to enter a preheated or precooled home whenever the “smart system” senses their proximity to the house. The system will accept the preferred room temperature values for each family member as inputs on setup after which it will use these values to control the temperature indoors. If multiple family members are present at the same time, the system takes an average of all the preferred temperatures and commands the actuators in the thermostat to set it to that value. It also has the added capability of mimicking a smart lock for the front door, which unlocks automatically when a family member arrives home.
