We created R'Nutrition to aid freshman with their dietary goals. The program takes in input from the user of things such as height, weight, and activity levels. Then the program uses science based formulas to calculate your approximate calorie goal per day. Lastly, the program uses a web scraper to extract the latest menus from UCR's Residential Dining website. Then the program suggests food items you should eat for each meal to meet your goal.
Challenges:
- We tried to get tkinter to create a better GUI, but we were not able to make it work. Instead all our output is directly given in the
- We are still struggling to implement Lothian's menu, but our Glasgow menu and its code is fully functional
- We also had some problems web scraping. Since we had to "inspect element" the website for Glasgow and Lothian directly, we struggled to find the classes that will output our food items in our code, since everything was in HTML, and none of us were proficient in HTML.
