Inspiration
Growing up in Bangalore, we were deeply affected by the RCB stadium stampede, which showed how vulnerable people can be in crowded spaces. RakshaMarg aims to go beyond observation, using AI to proactively guide, alert, and protect people, making every festival and event safer and more enjoyable
What it does
RakshaMargAI is an AI-powered system designed to manage and ensure the safety of large crowds, particularly in the context of Indian festivals and events.
The name itself explains its core function:
- Raksha means "protection" or "safety."
- Marg means "path" or "way."
- AI stands for "Artificial Intelligence."
Therefore, RakshaMargAI is an AI that creates a path of protection for people in a crowd. It works as a "Disaster Whisperer" by using a combination of real-time data, such as CCTV feeds, crowd heatmaps, and social media analytics, to predict and prevent potential stampedes or chaos .It also provides safer exits in order to prevent stampedes.
The system's main goal is to go beyond simple surveillance. It uses advanced machine learning models to analyze crowd behavior, identify patterns of concern, and proactively suggest solutions like alternate exits or rerouting people to prevent a disaster before it happens. It provides a crucial safety net for events where human management alone might not be enough.
