Inspiration
The below are the major sources of our inspiration
- Data collection calls for serious attention in this digital and competitive era as Projects need it to get or keep getting ahead of their competitors.
*The traditional platforms' way of collecting data is stressful and exploitative for the participants. This sets up a wrong footing for the data collection process making data unreliable.
*The fact that some projects especially new staged projects with no audience or influence struggle to get and recruit willing participants for their user research as compared to their competitors. This creates inequality or an unleveled playing ground.
All these led to us giving it the name Qwesty ( it came from Ques) which connotes royalty because we want every participant to feel special and appreciated.
What it does
1st: Qwesty gamifies the data-sharing process so that the participants will get to enjoy the process itself. 2nd: It acknowledges and protects the privacy of every participant. This is important to us and also because some participants can choose to be anonymous due to their identity in society and we want Qwesty to be an inclusive platform where researchers can see their targeted audience regardless of social level. 3rd: The platform also rewards participants to make the quests worth looking forward to. These rewards come in the form of either 'Qwes' which is the project's utility token, participant's local currency, or usdt (cryptocurrency) for accessibility and rewarding purposes. 4th: Qwesty helps researchers easily recruit their target participants in the number they need without having to know their real-world identity. 5th: Through gamification, it makes the data collected by researchers useful as participants are penalized when they don't align with the conditions that give room to data reliability.
Therefore, Qwesty makes data sharing fun and useful for the participants by gamifying the process and rewarding them for every step they make on the platform. It makes data collection useful and reliable for the participants by recruiting their target audience and by setting up gamified mechanisms that allow for reliable data.
How we built it
For our user Experience, we used Figma for the product design and Vite in React Js for our frontend for Faster reload.
We implemented PHP as Backend, while our database is on MySql. We worked on all these while using jira, notion, slack, and Google Drive for ideation, effective communication, documentation, and collaboration.
Challenges we ran into
Building Qwesty was very challenging. One of the main challenges we faced during the development of the Qwesty product was the time constraints related to front-end development. Crafting a visually appealing and user-friendly interface demanded meticulous attention, leading to a race against the clock. Additionally, getting passionate team members who are uncomfortable with the problem that Qwesty is trying to solve wasn't an easy feat. We also face the challenge of user research and trying to gulp down lots of technical knowledge within the short building timeframe as we need to understand the intricacies of the data sharing process and collection to actually build a solution.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Despite the time and knowledge constraints, our team is proud to have successfully implemented an aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly front-end for Qwesty while learning a lot along the way. Additionally, the acquisition of 200% organic signups on the waiting list as compared to our goal is a significant milestone for us because it shows there's really a problem out there and validates Qwesty's mission. Most importantly, our proudest accomplishment lies in creating a platform that genuinely wants to make the sharing process useful, reliable, and enjoyable.
What we learned
The challenges we encountered in regard to Time, Knowledge, and our perseverance after all developed in us thicker skin needed to develop on such a platform like Qwesty.
Also, the relentlessness of everyone in the team as persons from humble backgrounds. Four of us struggled with light, keeping up with our devices, and other sort of financial issues but the team harmony, and zeal kept us moving and made us learn the great importance of collaboration and one spirit.
So we didn't just learn how to develop a platform that revolutionalizes the process of data sharing and collection but we also developed in ourselves the ability to have a shared goal and keep it growing. This is because Qwesty's mission is to make user research one short of a problem for researchers with lots of burdens already in building projects and to make data sharing worth looking forward to for the participants.
What's next for Qwesty
Looking ahead, we plan to enhance Qwesty by incorporating user feedback, expanding the range of sustainable actions, and reaching the product market fit.
We also hope to expand and integrate advanced technologies needed to enhance user experience. While looking forward to A future where new staged start-ups can easily find, recruit, and manage willing participants for product research without needing technical know-how and a future where everyone is ready to invest in projects by helping to share useful data.
