Inspiration

Contractors lose hours creating estimates, only to see the job go to someone faster. Gut-based bidding can miss key items, underprice labor, and erase profit. Quotr PRO was built to remove that pain and help contractors bid faster, smarter, and with confidence.

What it does

Snap a few photos, add a description, and answer a few AI questions. Quotr PRO checks local material prices, labor rates, line items, and costs, then creates a detailed estimate. Review, adjust markup, preview the finished project, send a proposal, collect signatures and payments, and generate invoices and receipts.

How I built it

Quotr PRO uses a Python-powered backend that provides APIs for the iOS app. The mobile experience is built natively in Swift, creating a fast, reliable workflow for capturing project details, generating estimates, and managing proposals.

Challenges I ran into

Reliability was the biggest challenge. Contractor projects involve countless edge cases, unusual conditions, and long-tail scenarios. The system must handle these accurately because one missed item or incorrect assumption can reduce a contractor’s profit after the job is completed.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I’m proud of making Quotr PRO far more reliable and helping contractors create stronger estimates, win more jobs, and get proposals signed. Seeing real contractors use the app successfully and protect their profits has been the most rewarding accomplishment.

What I learned

I learned that a product will never be perfect. The key is to keep shipping small bug fixes and improvements. Over time, those minor changes compound into a more reliable product, a better user experience, and stronger results for contractors.

What's next for Quotr PRO

Next, I’m integrating online payments to complete the entire workflow, from estimate to signed proposal to payment. This will help grow GMV and ARPU beyond subscription revenue alone, while I continue shipping improvements that make Quotr PRO more reliable and valuable for contractors.
