Inspiration
From Global Hack Week 2023 , MLH .
What it does
It takes input from the user and based on that input(tags) , it displays quotes .
How we built it
We used HTML,CSS, JAVASCRIPT and EJS as the frontend while using Express to deliver the backend. The API was handled by npm's 'axios' and 'body-parser'
Challenges we ran into
We could use the quotes.rest api as it had only 5 free responses throughout the day which was giving us a bit of a problem while testing the endpoints.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Without taking too long , we directly jumped into the Quotable api on GitHub and accomplished this task.
What we learned
We learnt about api data handling , json parsing and basic structure of an express app
What's next for QuoteIt
We would like to make it more attractive , add pre-written tags , a small space for QUOTE_OF_THE_DAY and a section for Your Thoughts where people can mail their personal favourite quotes and we could share it with the world
