Inspiration

All of us have past experiences in playing Roblox and enjoying the experience of connecting with friends and family through the platform. Understanding how Roblox has evolved to serve as a virtual space for games, social interaction, and overall as a way to get connected with other people, we saw the opportunity for it to be utilized in the context of education. With the F1 theme, we immediately thought of something that resembled Type Racer. So we aimed to make a game that functioned as a Type Racer game where the user races their friends or other users while they answer questions and go faster and faster when they get them correct

3 focuses for the final product Make a change Be dynamically applicable Want to be able to use our program for different quiz topics Make a clear impact on youth education programs

Design vision We wanted to create an interactive game to give young people an opportunity to learn.

Tools that we used

We used ChatGPT to help us learn how to use Lua Crafted AI prompts

Problems we ran into

Aleena and Alex’s Roblox account would not allow them to connect to the team Roblox Studio Project. We believe we have had too many collaborators and experimented with trading off how many people logged on to the project at once. This was successful in allowing us to work on the project, and we creating a test game to test out the different concepts We struggled with the final product concept What will best engage the target audience? How do we address difficulty of coding-related questions? What game format is most easily scalable? How can we manage multiplayer interactions? Should players be allowed to freely drive? How can our idea be best applied to classrooms? How to fully write code to have an object run in circles? As the object moved, it wouldn’t smoothly

What we learned

Three out of four of our team members have not attended a hack a thon before. It was two of our team members first time downloading roblox. We learned a totally new coding language and experienced a lot of problems. We learned how to work as a team to output a product.

We had to learn some basic Lua to help create question prompts and constraints to the game How to bring the vision to reality A lot of experimentation with different project concepts

Possible impact While some may believe that some STEM concepts are too advanced for children, Even just learning basic concepts can have long lasting positive effects Here at QuizKart we believe we can make a change Through Roblox Trivia, we learned that 78% of Roblox players are outside of north america (Statista 2024) as of December 2023 58% of players are under 16 According to a Public Library of Science early STEM learning makes it more likely to increase self-motivation and student engagement? What if I told you that we can make an impact here at roblox on advancing education and increasing self-motivation? Early STEM learning and problem solving skills can heavily impact a student’s learning gains in high school and beyond
