Quizie

Inspiration

We were inspired by study helper apps such as Quizlet and Kahoot, but we thought we needed to integrate learning with games.

What it does

Quizie provides an easy method to elevate your learning through flashcards, games, and organization tools. You can create, edit, store, and delete custom flashcards to study with. If basic studying gets too boring, there are also games provided. Our last feature is a calendar, which you can use to better manage your time when it comes to studying or even your own personal life. Our app helps the user better manage their learning and time.

How we built it

We used MIT App Inventor, and video editing. However, we also learned much about time management, conflict management, leadership, and problem-solving. We faced many challenges during the development of Quizie, and we are proud to say that we grew from them. to create our app. We used it because other alternatives required learning many more concepts, and we would have needed more time to finish our app. We utilized a database to store the needed data, such as the sets the user created and the plans that the user set for a specific day in the calendar.

Challenges we ran into

One of our significant challenges was choosing the application to make the app in. We first decided to use Android Studio, but learning how to use it and, even harder, how to program in Java was not possible in a short time frame. Another challenge was changing team members, as some had not been showing up to meetings, and we had to replace them with those who wanted to help.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud of our ability to overcome the numerous challenges during the competition and create an app we can all benefit from.

What we learned

On the surface, we learned skills in app development, MIT App Inventor, and video editing. However, we also learned much about time management, conflict management, leadership, and problem-solving. We faced many challenges during the development of Quizie, and we are proud to say that we grew from them.

What's next for Quizie

Going forward, we plan to develop Quizie further to reach new audiences. We have many planned game modes that we could not include in our current build due to time constraints. We want to add these games to increase Quizie user satisfaction. We also plan to add more language support to reach new audiences who could benefit from our app. French, Russian, and Mandarin are the three we are planning on adding next. We also plan to improve the UI design to increase user satisfaction.
