Inspiration

We were inspired by chatgpt, who gave us a good idea connected to the theme as well as an easy idea that us beginners could accomplish.

What it does it do

Quizaster is a website that prepares users for potential natural disasters by quizzing them and giving them feedback. It does this by allowing the user to pick their choice of natural disaster to be quizzed on and then feed them questions on those natural disaster situations that chatgpt prepared and verified through other external sources.

How we built it

Surprisingly, we relied very little on chatgpt and more on mentors when we built this. To build it, we first used React, and then stylized it using custom css styles. We also used arrays to condense our questions.

Challenges we ran into

Since all of our team members are beginner hackers, our difficulty lay in navigating github and vscode as well as creating our first webpage. Something that we had a particularly hard time doing was merging our githubs and making a React Webpage, as they were barely touched on in the workshops.

What we learned

Throughout this hackathon, we learned a lot as beginners. We learned how to properly navigate github and vscode as well as collaborate efficiently on it. We also learned how to call and create a React Webpage as well as call upon Customized Tailwind CSS styling. Lastly, we also learned how to implement array's into our code.

What's next for Quizaster

In future implementation, we are foreseeing the possibility of gamifying the experience, and allowing the user to go through a more simulation type quiz rather than a multiple choice preparedness quiz. We hope these future iterations will better motivate and prepare users to extend their knowledge on the area, as well as increase our ability to code and make projects. We also want to deploy it through a domain, and even though we registered it via GoDaddy (http://quizaster.study/) , we were not able to successfully connect it. Therefore, we hope to connect it in the future.
