🎮 About Quiz Quest
Inspiration
Traditional exam preparation can become repetitive when students only read notes and answer static questions. We wanted to turn learning into something interactive and engaging. This inspired us to create Quiz Quest, an educational RPG where knowledge becomes the player's weapon.
Our goal was to make the concept flexible enough to work with any subject, topic, syllabus, or exam, rather than limiting the game to a single academic field.
💡 What We Built
Quiz Quest combines RPG gameplay, AI-powered learning, adaptive practice, and exam preparation.
Players can enter a subject and create a customized learning quest. The game supports different question formats, including:
- MCQ
- Short Answer
- Long Answer
- Numerical / Problem Solving where appropriate
Correct answers allow the player to attack enemies, earn XP and gold, build combos, level up, unlock rewards, and progress through the game.
The platform also includes Exam Mode, allowing students to practice with timed examinations, marks, question navigation, results, accuracy analysis, and weak-topic identification.
🧠 Adaptive Learning
Quiz Quest tracks the player's performance and identifies areas that need more practice. Instead of simply showing a final score, the system can direct the player toward weaker topics and adjust the difficulty of future questions.
This creates a learning cycle:
Learn → Practice → Battle → Analyze → Improve → Master
🛠️ How We Built It
We designed Quiz Quest as a mobile-first educational game with a separation between the RPG game system and the educational system.
The RPG layer manages:
- Player progression
- Battles
- XP
- Gold
- Levels
- Rewards
- Achievements
The educational layer manages:
- Subjects
- Topics
- Questions
- Answer types
- Exams
- Scoring
- Performance analysis
AI is used to make the educational experience more flexible, while core gameplay and progress are designed to remain lightweight and reliable.
📚 What We Learned
While developing Quiz Quest, we learned how to combine game mechanics with educational workflows. We explored question generation, different answer-evaluation approaches, adaptive difficulty, exam simulation, player progression, UI/UX design, and mobile game development.
We also learned that adding more features is not enough — each feature needs to contribute to the player's learning experience.
🚧 Challenges
One of our biggest challenges was designing a system that could support any subject rather than relying on a fixed question bank.
Another challenge was handling different answer formats. MCQs can be checked directly, while short and long answers require more flexible evaluation based on concepts and relevant information.
We also had to balance educational accuracy with engaging RPG mechanics so that the game feels like a real game rather than a quiz with a game-themed interface.
🚀 Vision
Our vision is to make Quiz Quest a universal learning adventure where students can take any subject or exam syllabus and turn it into a personalized quest.
Quiz Quest — Learn. Battle. Master.
