Inspiration

We realised that communication over the crypto space is non-existent, which makes contacting NFT creators or crypto traders difficult

What it does

Quilt is a cross-chain social protocol that allows users to socialise and transact over the crypto space. Users can reach out to fellow enthusiasts, traders and NFT creators anonymously using their wallet addresses as a means of logging in

How we built it

We have successfully tested our idea on Avalanche Fuji Testnet (https://quilt.chat/). We are currently using gun (https://gun.eco/) for our p2p protocol. The universal GUN graph is distributed across all peers participating in the network. We are also doing some research on the alternatives available like OrbitDB (https://orbitdb.org/) and berty (https://berty.tech/).

Challenges we ran into

We ran into encryption issues while trying to work with Libp2p

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We were able to build a prototype that allows users to add friends (via their wallet addresses, i.e. Metamask), generate a private key that'll encrypt our users' messages, and users can send messages to people who aren't on their friend lists

What we learned

We learnt that there's a demand for social interaction over the blockchain space while ensuring our users retain their data and remain anonymous

What's next for quilt

Build an NFT wallet that'll facilitate NFT transactions, group creation and interaction, and much more.
