Inspiration

I built Quil for myself. This platform is something I truly want and need, and will use every day. Having a clear vision of which tools I wanted made the creative process much easier and more enjoyable. I almost forgot it was a hackathon.

What it does

Quil is a digital sanctuary for solopreneurs, coaches, and consultants, who want to build a calm, abundant brand without overwhelm or burnout.

Built from my own experience as an HSP (highly sensitive person who struggles with overwhelm), Quil offers AI-powered tools that help you create meaningful, story-driven content inspired by microfiction and marketing psychology. It’s about quality over quantity, authenticity over generic templates, and most importantly, no overwhelm.

From crafting unique LinkedIn posts using storytelling and analogies, to generating premium, Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar-inspired brand photos without the stress of traditional photoshoots, Quil supports your brand-building journey with calm and clarity.

It also includes voice-guided meditations and affirmations to help you overcome posting anxiety and nurture your mindset, because building a calm brand starts from within.

Quil challenges the old marketing playbook by focusing on discoverability over constant visibility, and by encouraging premium, high-value offerings like tiny books and courses that deliver real transformation without overwhelm.

This is a platform built with heart, designed to protect your energy and help you grow sustainably and authentically.

Features

MicroNarrative Generator for LinkedIn Quil’s MicroNarrative Generator is built on microfiction principles, every word matters, and every post is designed for maximum impact in minimum words. It uniquely integrates analogy and metaphor generation, as well as empathy mapping, directly into the content creation process. This approach is rooted in proven learning science: analogies and metaphors help people understand and remember new ideas, while empathy mapping ensures your message truly connects.

The result? You don’t sound like everyone else on LinkedIn. You impress your network with your creativity, and most importantly, you don’t sound like AI.

Editorial-Style, AI-Generated Brand Photoshoots Inspired by the iconic styles of Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar, Quil’s AI-powered brand photos are unique, sophisticated, and crafted to reflect your individuality.

Unlike traditional photoshoots, which require styling, scheduling, and often leave you feeling self-conscious or overwhelmed, Quil delivers high-fashion editorial results from the comfort of your own space. There’s no need to worry about wardrobe, makeup, or posing (if you don’t want to). For those who choose our premium experience, Quil does offer and encourage an in-studio professional photography session, which leads to better training results for the AI model.

Essence Extraction Uncover your core insights and inspirations using Quil’s voice-based Essence Extraction tool. Speak freely, ramble, reflect, and share your story in your own words. Your authentic voice becomes the foundation for your brand content, ensuring you don’t sound like AI or everyone else online. This process is designed to be calm and supportive, helping you find the gold in your own story. (Your story is stored and will be used to further personalize your content as we continue to develop this feature.)

Calm, Intentional Brand Building With built-in meditations and affirmations, Quil supports your emotional well-being as you build your brand. Addressing posting anxiety and supporting personal development is essential, you can’t build a calm brand without addressing the mind.

Concise, High-Value Offerings Quil challenges the myth that bigger is better. Our Tiny Book, Tiny Course, and Tiny YouTube Channel generators empower you to create premium, high-impact products that deliver real transformation, not just more content. Inspired by The Tiny MBA by Alex Hillman, these tools are designed for busy entrepreneurs who want to offer their best, most actionable insights in a format that’s easy to consume and revisit. The compact size offers relief from overwhelm for everyone: creators can focus on their most valuable ideas, and audiences get clear, practical guidance they’re willing to pay for. These are not free lead magnets, they’re premium products that command a price worthy of their value and impact. (Note: At the time of submission, the Tiny Book and Tiny Course generators are experiencing an edge function error, and the Tiny YouTube Channel generator is also showing an error message. These features are coming soon!)

How I built it

I started with a simple prompt outlining my vision for a landing page, along with links to inspiration websites. Bolt built the first version, which was surprisingly good. Once the landing page was 90% complete, I moved on to the dashboard and dashboard cards.

I knew I wanted three main integrations: a text-based model for narrative generation, and a fine-tuned model for face training and image generation. I chose a Flux Lora model from Replicate for brand photo generation, but ultimately decided not to let customers generate their own brand photos due to quality concerns. Instead, this feature is now offered as a “done with you” service.

For the text-based narrative generator, I first tried Llama via Replicate and fed it with my frameworks, templates, and prompts, but the output wasn’t good enough. I switched to Claude, which delivered much better results, although it still needs tweaking. I added an analogy and metaphor library.

I considered integrating Tavus for life story extraction, but opted for a voice-based solution with ElevenLabs instead. I’m not ready for Tavus yet, and I realized my clients likely wouldn’t be either. So, I built the voice feature for life story interviews using ElevenLabs, cloning my own voice in a professional podcast studio. I also used ElevenLabs for meditation and affirmation tracks, including ASMR voice options. Supabase handled the backend integrations.

Challenges I ran into

I spent 80% of my development tokens in a different project file, which kept crashing. Eventually, I decided to start from scratch, this time with a better understanding of how to communicate with Bolt and avoid unnecessary complexity.

Connecting the FAL.AI and Replicate APIs was another major challenge, but this too was resolved by starting fresh. I also ran into issues connecting the domain to Entri. My domain is: quil.life

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I’m proud to have brought so many features to life, turning my vision of a complete personal branding suite into reality. While there’s still work to be done, especially with backend AI prompting and templating, the core platform is functional.

Highlights include:

  • Learning Bolt to the point where I can confidently build projects for myself (and in the future, clients) without a steep learning curve.
  • Being forced to learn so many tech tools, editing tools and AI tools.
  • Recording training material in a podcast studio and cloning my voice with ElevenLabs.

What I learned

I learned that speaking to Bolt conversationally, without overcomplicating the prompts, worked best for me. I also learned about Netlify and Supabase, and gained patience through troubleshooting, sometimes to the point of real frustration. Starting over was sometimes the best solution. Most importantly, I learned not to put API keys in the frontend code, a lesson I picked up from a YouTube video about Bolt, even though both Bolt and Claude kept suggesting otherwise.

What's next for QUIL – Digital Sanctuary for Building a Calm, Abundant Brand

Next up: launching with beta customers and using Quil as a sponsor for my YouTube channel, which I’ll be focusing on after this hackathon. Since Quil is built from my own desire and needs, I’ll continue to use it and refine it for myself and my community.
