Inspiration
Emergencies demand quick action, but not everyone knows what to do during those crucial moments. We wanted to create a simple yet powerful tool to empower individuals with immediate first-aid guidance, especially when professional help isn’t instantly available. QuickAid was born to bridge this gap using AI and technology.
What it does
QuickAid allows users to upload or capture images of visible injuries like burns, cuts, or infections. Using advanced AI, it analyzes the image and provides instant first-aid instructions tailored to the condition. This makes first-aid accessible, easy, and actionable for everyone.
How we built it
Frontend: Built using Streamlit for a fast and interactive user interface. Backend: Powered by Python for processing user inputs and integration. AI Model: Utilized Google Gemini for image classification to identify the type of injury. First-Aid Database: Predefined condition-specific first-aid tips stored locally for quick access.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully integrating AI for real-time first-aid guidance. Building a working prototype within limited time constraints. Making a tangible contribution toward improving community health and safety.
What we learned
The importance of user-centric design, especially in critical applications like healthcare. Effective use of AI and Streamlit to build a functional and accessible application quickly. How to handle data inconsistencies and edge cases in image analysis.
What's next for QuickAid
Emergency Integration: Add a feature to connect users directly to nearby hospitals or emergency hotlines.
