Inspiration
I am a student at Indiana University so I took a plane to get here in Maryland. While packing my toiletries, I realized how many small plastic bottles I use during travel just so that I can fit the maximum 3.4oz size requirement. This made me realize how much plastic people throw away after only one to three uses. On the topic of cleaning supplies, I started thinking about Tide Pods and how they use water-soluble technology to create sustainable packaging for their products. Using similar technology, QuickTrip minis could include various products like lotion, face wash, shampoo, and conditioner. Packaging products into smaller, 1 oz pods could prevent consumer frustration when finding products small enough to fit within the size requirements. If we were to partner with popular hair and skin care brands that consumers trust, they will likely buy these pods as it is easier to fit multiple pods
What it does
The technology used to create this product allows materials like soluble polymers to be converted into various end products such as films, moldings, and tablets which are alternative options to hazardous plastic packaging.
How we built it
We would partner with project developers to develop this technology and model after Tide Pod products.
Challenges we ran into
The cost of the product would be slightly more expensive with partnerships and the processing equiptment.
What we learned
Simplistic and Innovative design whether for a product or a website can lead to consumer change in trends and motivate buyers to purchase a specific service or product.
What's next for QuickTrip Minis
This would be an easy project to get behind for investors as this technology has been modeled before.
