QuickSplit is a tiny bill splitter that calculates each person's share with tax, tip, and optional round-up handling.

Splitting a shared bill gets annoying when tax, tip, and uneven collection amounts are involved. People want a fast answer they can trust without opening a spreadsheet or doing mental math at the table.

QuickSplit is a single-page utility where a user enters subtotal, tax, tip percentage, and number of people. It immediately shows each person's share, the tip amount, total bill, collected total, and any extra buffer created by rounding up.

Key features:

  • Calculates per-person payment from subtotal, tax, tip percentage, and party size.
  • Shows tip amount, total bill, collected total, and extra buffer.
  • Supports rounding each person's share up to the nearest dollar.
  • Runs as a static browser page with no backend or build step.

AI/Codex usage: No model API is part of the runtime product. AI was used as a build assistant to choose the utility concept, design the interaction, generate the initial HTML/CSS/JavaScript implementation, and draft this submission packet. Codex was used inside the Devpost plugin flow to discover the hackathon, review the rules, select a scoped idea, implement the app, verify the files, and prepare the Devpost submission draft.

Testing instructions: Open index.html in a browser, change subtotal/tax/tip/people values, verify the per-person amount updates, toggle round-up mode, and confirm the collected total and buffer update.
