Inspiration

We have a friend who works in the medical field, specifically in the ER. He keeps telling us about how many questions related to wait time he gets asked every day. We decided to help him out by having an app answering all those questions for him while also streamlining the process for his staff by allowing them to view the list of patients, their current phases and status in real time.

What it does

Making the waiting time more transparent by showing the patients exactly what phase they're in, how many people are in front of them in the queue, and how many more phases they have to go through before they get discharged or seen by a doctor.

How we built it

Using the Gadget App, we built everything within the framework.

Challenges we ran into

The Gadget App has many bugs and they sometimes slow down development or even pull it back in time by deleting snippets of code that are conflicting. The biggest challenge of them all is definitely the fact that when someone makes a mistake, it refreshes the tab for everyone else, making it very hard to work on frontend while the backend is being developed.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our 3D Queue Render that keeps the QuickPulse dashboard light and breezy without losing anything on the sleek side.

What we learned

To work through and around heavy bugs that are out of our control and manage our time

What's next for QuickPulse

We're planning on finishing up the app and release it for public use! Keep an eye out the next time you're in the ER ;)
