Inspiration
Apps that allow you to track your nutrient intake don't recommend recipes based on your needs and research can be tiresome
What it does
It takes a user's macronutrient goals as input and generates a delicious and creative recipe
How we built it
A flutter app connects with a firebase database to store recipes and user info. The app makes calls to a python backend through an API which calls an LLM. The LLM receives a list of ingredients based on the users desired goals, an outputs a recipe.
Challenges we ran into
Creativity and diversity of ingredients were a big concern, but thanks to our proprietary algorithm and research into food groups we were able to make it work
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We got a fully working application that at least met our minimum requirements we set out to accomplish and were addressed by our problem statement.
What we learned
Data is difficult to understand, and even more difficult to aggregate
What's next for QuickPlate
Better integration for dietary restrictions and more input options to allow users who don't understand their macro needs to get recipes as well.
