Inspiration

Technology world is transforming the world rapidly as it itself evolves at unimaginable speed. To keep oneself updated with all the cool stuff happening around we rely on different channels of information. So wouldn't it be great if we could get our daily dose of tech news by just asking "Alexa, What's in the news?"

What it does

QuickNews gives your daily flash briefing on technology world.

How I built it

QuickNews is built using Alexa Skill Kit's Flash Briefing Skill API and Amazon Web Services' Lambda, API Gateway offerings.

Challenges I ran into

Understanding different pieces of the puzzle while building a skill and choosing among the many available options for developing the service.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Creating a new Alexa Skill from scratch and being able to connect to the news feed and bring it to Alexa. Being able to leverage the best of tools available to develop a skill for Alexa.

What I learned

Once you know the different components you can not only develop your skill with ease but it would also open further possibilities that could make your skill more smarter and personal.
